HEART POUNDING SUSPENSE! AMAZING BOOK!! This story was so exciting and it literally had my heart pounding at times. I was so nervous yet excited to see what would happen. COULD NOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED!! At the beginning it was frustrating for me as one chapter was before Agent Rourke lost his hearing, then the next chapter was after he lost his hearing. Then all of a sudden along comes Agent Connor & Elaine. I knew if I held on, exciting as it was, it would eventually come together and it did. These are stand alone books but some characters are in the previous book. I read book one awhile ago, haven’t read the 2nd book yet, but I will because I love Susanna’s books. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it definitely won’t be my last! There was a lot of action, some heartbreak, new love blooming, revenge, police in difficult situations and so much more! Probably the best so far in the series, taking a deep look at loss, anger, frustration and coping with difficult situations. This book kept me on my toes, with its flashbacks and its dual storyline. I appreciated seeing how the characters handled challenges and dealt with their previous traumas.
